Alaska’s health department supports many great options. You can join a Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) program to lower blood sugar, manage diabetes, and make other healthy changes. These changes could include losing weight or staying at a healthy weight and taking medications if needed. Participants in online programs track progress and work with assigned coaches using a computer or a mobile app provided through the health department’s partnership with Health and Lifestyle Training (HALT).
